There was a good turnout for this traditional festive fixture and spectators and players enjoyed the game played in  almost perfect conditions.
The game itself was played in a very competitive spirit and the players on both sides were keen to run off the excesses of the previous day.
Holyrood Old Boy Matt Ousley not selected for the Holyrood side turned out  for the home team and  became the star  of the show by scoring all four tries for the Chard side one of which was converted by Steve (Reg) Baker. The last of Ousleys tries was a somewhat debatable score but the sympathetic referee gave the try which allowed Chard to snatch a late draw and thus an ideal result was achieved for all.
Paul Nicholls, Lee  Massey, Chris Doel and Ben Stead scored the Holyrood tries and Nicholls added one conversion.
