CHARD RUGBY REPORT

The Players Dinner and Awards evening was held at the clubhouse on Saturday evening.

Prior to the dinner a minutes silence was observed in memory of former mini and junior chairman Dennis Jones who sadly passed away recently. Dennis had always been a great supporter of local rugby.

Following a superb meal prepared by Richard Dare and his team Jim Wagstaff the club captain gave an amusing account of the season and proposed a toast to the club.

Club Chairman Philip Cook proposed a toast to the guests in particular to the main speaker Rick O'Shea.
In his speech Rick O'Shea  the BBC Wales presenter of the popular programme scrum v gave a great speech which kept his lively audience entertained throughout particularly when he spoke about his father who remains the only British Lion ever to be sent off in a test match!!

Following the speeches the awards for the season were made.
